Legend of Bloodstone:
Medieval Christians often used bloodstone to carve scenes of the crucifixion and marytyrs, which is why it was also dubbed Martyr's Stone. Legend says bloodstone originated when drops of Christ's blood fell on some jasper at the foot of the cross, staining them with His Precious Blood. Hence, this rosary is perfect to pray with during Lent with it's blood red agate beads accenting the 'droplets of blood' running through the green of the bloodstone beads.
