Exquisite rosary offers reassuring hope and inspires us to always walk with God and trust in Him, as He will ALWAYS be there for us! As in the powerful poem “Footprints in the Sand”, this rosary is meant to offer a peaceful calm to all – for when we only see one set of footprints, it is then that He carries us. This encouraging rosary features hand-crafted Footprint beads. The “Our Father” beads are Footprints made of “Studio by Sculpey” clay in Cappuccino (brown) and Desert Sand (tan) to mimic the colors in the “Hail Mary” beads which are Picture Jasper. Picture Jasper is described like this... “Imagine vast sandy expanses and rocky mountains. This gemstone's brown, tan and cream earth tones make it especially popular...” The Picture Jasper beads are from Idaho. The center is of the Divine Mercy with the words “Jesus, I Trust in You” on the reverse. The crucifix, to me, appears to imitate the rolling waves of the water of the “beach” where the Footprints poem takes place. Also, it is on the water, in waves, where Jesus told Peter (and us) to have faith to follow Him. A footprint charm is also attached.
The Footprints in the Sand Picture Jasper Divine Mercy Rosary will be accompanied by a prayer card with the Footprints in the Sand poem on it, which I researched and found three versions. I chose the one written by Mary Stevenson. It is said she wrote it as a teenager in 1936. This according to her son has been authenticated by forensic investigators who study handwritten items. She apparently hand-wrote copies of it for several people throughout the years and dated them. Some of these handwritten copies still exist and have been examined by forensic experts. Two other people claim to have written the poem in 1963 and 1964. One of them has her version listed with the copywrite office. After reading through information available, I decided the Mary Stevenson version sounded most likely the original because of the authentication of forensics and dated copies.
This rosary was a true inspiration, as I feel God nudged me to put this rosary together. When I could not find footprint beads, H gave me the courage to try to hand-craft the beads myself. When, at first I failed, He kept pressuring me to try again. I started again and once again put the now started beads aside, doubting my ability. Then, I took the started beads out once more and before I knew it, the beads were made. I honestly feel God held my hand and guided me while making these footprint beads. When I didn’t know what type of center or crucifix to place with the rosary, God, once again spoke when I was overwhelmed by the phrase that was being repeated in my head… “Walk with Jesus. Trust in Jesus.” Divine Mercy. So, I searched for a center of the Divine Mercy with the words “Jesus, I Trust in You”. While I still had no crucifix, I “stumbled” upon a new supplier of rosary centers and crucifixes. (I’m sure God led me there.) I found what I call the “Wave” crucifix, which, reminds me of the rolling waves of the ocean or the curves of sand dunes. (This was inspirational since the “Footprints in the Sand” poem takes place on a beach where there is water and sand.) Interestingly, at the points of the crucifix where Jesus’ hands are nailed to the cross, there are hearts joining the crucifix, once again, to the Divine Mercy image where the rays come from Jesus’ merciful heart.
So…this rosary was truly an inspiration from God. I hope it brings many blessings and comfort to all who pray with it!
This is a 5 decade rosary. It measures approx. 20" (inches) in length including the crucifix.
